The Reddest of Them All

A while ago I professed my love for red shoes but also admitted to not owning that many pairs of red heels. Sadly, I haven't bought any new pairs of shoes - red or other - although I am looking for some new shoes (I want to replace my favorite slouchy boots as they are literally falling apart and I would love to have a pair of red ankle boots) I haven't come across any that would be right for me. So while I haven't got any new shoes to show you, I have saved a few in the shoe challenge.

Shoes saved: Zara Woman stain bow detail heels in red
Wearing: H&M polka dot skirt, Pull & Bear sweater, Zara leopard print shawl

These heels are a very old pair of shoes. They were one of the first (if not the first) pair of peep toe heels I ever bought. I remember falling in love with the bow and with the color (it is such a vibrant red). I guess I haven't changed that much since I still love the bow and the color, but there are also other things I really like about these shoes. I like the heel, which you can see in the photo below. I like that these heels, though they have a 9 cm heel, are surprisingly very comfortable and I am able to spend the entire evening in them and not have my feet killing me! That's a definite plus!

As much as the shoes above are "comfy", when I go to work or uni classes and I commute, I really only wear flats (unless I have a short day and I'm not carrying too many things with me). Which brings me to the next shoe save:

Shoes saved: New Look two-tone flats
Where/ when: work, Monday
Wearing: Asos coat, Zara office City bag, Topshop tee, Zara miniskirt, red pashmina

Monday was a very hectic day and I chose comfort over everything else. I don't really have much to show you - I didn't manage to take any good outfit pictures - but I did take a close-up of the print on my tee. Isn't it so cute?? It's two skunks with their tails forming a heart and underneath them it says "kiss & tail". I really like this shirt. Anyways, I'll be back tomorrow with last night's outfit so see you soon.

Shoe shoes shoes

As I mentioned in my last post, the boy & I finished the shoe room. It's a tiny room where one wall houses only shoes from top to bottom, start to finish, the other wall only half way (mid length), and in the back there's the closet that used to be in the hallway. I'll be posting about the room some more when I have better photos, but I wanted to show you at least something.

It was definitely hard to organize my shoes - I didn't really know how I wanted them but then I just went with it and here you can see the mid length wall with my favorite row (the Melissa shoes - mainly Vivienne Westwood for Melissa), in the row above are Melissa flats and below fun flats. In the photo above are fun heels and Iron Fist shoes. So basically, I organized the shoe room according to type and style of shoe. I tried to keep the fun shoes together, the black shoes together, ankle boots together, the Melissas, the Iron Fists, you get the idea. There's a row of black shoes with gold detailing that I also find very cute. More photos soon, I promise. For now (until I get home and to my camera) I'll leave you with two shoe saves.

Shoes saved: H&M leopard print converse-esque shoes with purple laces
Where: lunch & work today (Monday)
Wearing: it's gotten uber cold here! I'm layering like crazy: Mango jeans, vintage belt, Zara grandpa sweater, tezenis black undershirt, H&M red tee shirt, red pashmina, thrifted brown suede jacket, Zara city office bag

Shoes saved: New Look tartan print creepers (they really blistered my feet though so I'll never wear them bare foot again!)
Where: gift shopping for a friend's bday gift - Galerie Harfa; Friday before dinner (I can't believe it was so nice out and that's just a three day difference! Man, it's gotten cold!)
Wearing: Topshop cropped trousers, Zara tee, George sweater, Pull & Bear canvas tote (not pictured)

Some Serious Shoe Saving

Today, over the weekend and on Friday I managed to save quite a bit of shoes. I had originally wanted to save the more summery pairs but due to two factors that didn't really work out (1. the boy & I are renovating the shoe room so currently all my shoes are in huge chaotic piles and it's difficult to find the shoes I'm looking for and 2. the weather sucks). I hope my shoe saving stays this productive but I know that later in the challenge it gets harder and harder as the shoes you love are already saved and the ones that are left are usually difficult to wear. So I'm really trying to save some of the difficult ones from the get go to save myself some trouble later. We'll see how that'll work as the challenge goes on.

Shoes saved: Stradivarius sweatshirt material wedges
Where: Friday night drinks
Wearing: thrifted tweed coat, H&M turtleneck, Zara skirt, Asos Paris skyline tights*, Stradivarius studded bag

These were relatively easy shoes to save (they have a wedge but not a too tall one so are perfect when there's some walking involved) expect for one tiny factor: the outer layer is made from sweatshirt material which means they're not really for when it's too hot, but sweatshirt material isn't too good for rain either! However, Friday night was the perfect weather for these - coldish but dry.

* Sadly the tights ripped on the left leg on the sheer part. I think they're still wearable (depending on the outfit and thus visibility of the rip) but when I place my next Asos order (after my Karl shoes arrive) I'll definitely order another pair. I received many compliments on these tights and they're just so fun, love them!

Shoes saved: Asos sneaker wedges (according to this month's issue of Harper's Bazaar, sneaker wedges are out but like whatever HB, I love sneaker wedges and for on-and-off rain and/or when you're carrying a ton of things in your bag, they are the perfect shoes.)
Where: work (= carrying a ton of things in my bag) * this was from last week but I forgot to post the photo, but I wear these shoes a lot. I like them with skinny jeans and they're a nice way of wearing heels (well, wedges) without a fuss. Plus I like the combination of red and tan.
Wearing: Zara skinny jeans

Shoes saved: Asos Maddison pretty tie brogue
Where: food shopping (necessary activity that luckily calls for footwear. The shop isn't too far from the flat and so I can wear my less comfortable shoes. These shoes totally require more breaking in.)
Wearing: Zara skinny jeans

Shoes saved: Stephan pom-pom jelly flats, bought in Paris
Where: lunch at grandma and grandpa's
Wearing: H&M dress, opaque tights, also wore a lovely Liquor Brand bag in the same color as the shoes (sadly not visible in the photo though).

Love the pom-pom detail but these shoes are really not the most comfortable. Not intended for long walks but we went to my grandparents' house by car so it was ok. Also this was the only summery pair I saved this weekend, expect for these and the flats I wore today (last picture), all the shoes I saved have a more autumn attitude to them. Guess that means summer is over after all!

Shoes saved: New Look heeled leather brogues
Where: Friday night dinner with the boy's parents
Wearing: H&M trench coat (also wore the same H&M turtleneck and Zara skirt that's in the first photo - had this whole all-black outfit thing going on)

These shoes are perfectly fine but a bit on the boring side. They're just a simple pair of leather brogues with a sensibly sized heel - good for when there's a lot of walking involved and when it's rainy. But like I said, when you compare them to the rest of my shoes, they are a bit boring and so I don't really wear them that much. But that's the good thing about the challenge, it makes you pick shoes you wouldn't perhaps normally and so you don't just wear those few favorite pairs all the time but keep things interesting.

Shoes saved: River Island ankle boots with a gold zipper on the side, bought in Dubai
Where: work
Wearing: Zara pencil skirt, opaque tights

I wasn't worried about these shoes in the challenge because ever since I bought them during our Dubai vacation, they have become somewhat of a staple item. They are heeled but not outrageously, they go with short dresses as they do with pencil skirts, they go with pants or jeans (but I prefer them with dresses or skirts).

Shoes saved: Zara red flats
Where: out to lunch
Wearing: Mango jeans, Zara grandpa sweater, Zara trf red bag with cat buckle detail (not pictured, sorry).

These are the last shoes I'm showing you today. They're a simple pair of red flats that I bought ages ago at Zara. There's nothing I can really say about them other than I like the twist detail at the front of the shoe and red is one of my favorite shoe colors. An easy save.

Phew, that was a lot of shoes, right?! I had fun saving these and hopefully I'll manage to save some fun shoes during the week. This is the last week before Uni starts again, so I just have work to go to (but lugging my computer around isn't too fun - especially not when wearing heels). But I'll still try to save some of the harder to save shoes, so stay tuned and stay frosty (re-watching Generation Kill). I have to say, Brad is kind of dreamy...

Piggie Trip

 shoes saved: New Look brogues
wearing: Bershka leather jacket, Zara sweater, H&M white tank top, red Pashmina, Adidas bag, Zara jeans, Topshop gloves
Right before Easter we had a small piggie/vet trip with Dracul & our pig club. It was a rainy cold Saturday afternoon and Mr. Piggy-o had to get his hooves trimmed and his boar teeth clipped (kinda like getting your wings clipped). He was a good sport though and was very brave. He got loads of treats after so it wasn't all a bad day for him either. Oh and the boy helped loads!

Shoe Challenge #144: Raining Cats and Dogs

What: New Look heeled leather broques (bought in Paris)
Where: work
Wearing: Mango mini skirt, H&M tee, plus a bunch of layers not shown cause this is the coldest summer uggh.
It's been raining non-stop for a couple of days and it frightens me to think how long this will continue (I need to be saving some shoes!) and given that most of my still-waiting-to-be-saved shoes are either open toes or suede, it's gonna be quite a challenge! Now these shoes, on the other hand, are not suede nor open toed so it was a rather easy decision to pick them (actually, I've been wearing them for a couple of days now but just never got to photographing them, cause besides my flat there really isn't any place to take photos when it's so horrible out.)
Anyways, New Look does some simple and nice shoes (occasionally) and though these weren't the cheapest (at something like 55 euro?, to be honest I can't remember) but I just had to have them. I'd buy more New Look shoes but was so dissapointed by their shipping prices and that t took them SO LONG to ship my order I think I'll only be buying in-store from now on. Given that there's no New Look stores in Prague it won't be that often (so only whilest on holiday, like these sweeties).
Anyways, now I gotta be off, umbrella and rain coat and all, xoxo.

Shoe Challenge #129: Unluckies

 What: New Look brogues
Where: Jeff Beck concert at Tesla arena
Wearing: New Look tights, Stradivarius bag, F&F skirt, Zara favorite tee, H&M elbow patch sweater
These shoes have been very unlucky since I've worn them like three times in the past month but have always either forgotten my camera or forgotten to take pictures. So last night - AGAIN forgetting my camera - I decided to at least snap a few with my phone cam. The quality is nothing much but whatever.. The shoes themselves are simple and comfy and sweet. Just as I like my shoes to be.. *BTW, the Beck concert yesterday was superb!

Shoe Challenge #123: Shopaholic

 What: New Look two-toned flats
Where: out shopping + uni classes
Wearing: Topshop polka dotted dress, Topshop belt and Topshop headband, Dekadence Now earrings, gifted watch from my Mum (have had it for ages!), New Look tights (was also wearing a Tenezies jacket and a B&B bag - not photographed)
I love these flats. They were on sale for 10 pounds and are so cute. I was a little over matched today but wtf, why not?! So anyways, was on a super shopping spree and bought 3 dresses in the Mango sale. Also thrifted 3 dresses. And pictured below are a pair of shoes I bought my boy:)) <3

Shoe Challenge #122: Polka dot me

What: New Look polka dot sandals
Where: boy's office post dinner out
Wearing: Zara Colllection dress (love it!), Bershka DIYed sweater, Zara bag, Swatch watch
Except for the rain on the way home it was a picture perfect night. New shoes, lovely dress, good food, good mood, no stress. Yeah. Polka dotted shoes make the world a better place.

Us over the weekend post movie (x-men) and happy. This is why summer rocks.

Shoe Challenge #121: square route of eleven

 What: H&M sandals (YELLOW!)
Where: dinner with the boy yesterday (not on photos) and school today (pictured above and below)
Wearing: Dorothy Perkins dress, H&M leggings, Zara belt, Zara bag, New Look parcel;))
On the 29th I ordered 3 pairs of shoes and two pairs of tights from New Look and FINALLY today it arrived. It took sooo sooo long. Really annoying! Went to pick it up at the post office after uni class. (Screenwriting - how cool is that?!)
The flower print on this dress is just too cute. Love it. Unfortunately the dress is see-thru so it has a under layer but it's a bit too short and keeps riding up. ANNOYING! Dorothy, you should have been better..
New shoes via New Look: polka dots (love), two-tone flats, pink wedges (love love love). Life is good:)

Shoe Challenge #47: Post From the Past*

What: New Look grey suede wedges
Where: last night out with the Boy and his friends + today with Mr. Piggy in the garden*
Wearing: a)last night: black Zara Basic skirt, Topshop tights, Topshop "dog" belt, black tee Promod (?), also wore a grey Mango jacket
b) today with same skirt and white H&M tee (which I'll be wearing with the jeans from yesterday's post to uni in a bit)
*wouldn't have worn these out today again but yesterday I only managed to get one picture (since me and the Boy had a slight disagreement on the way home and I didn't want to ask him for photos because I'm as hard-headed as they come) and I wanted to take some normal pix of them so ta da - me & Mr. Piggy in the garden and thus a postfrom the past, kinda.
The wedges are comfy enough to walk in but after a while they start pinching the little toes which is sooo painful. Had to walk home (on those stupid cobble stones that are everywhere in Prague city centre aargh!) rather slowly.. or well slower than I usually walk. And had to keep telling the Boy to slow down so that I could keep up. Weird. But still, they are very pretty shoes and make you feel sexy which I think a shoe should do. So definitely will wear them again, though not too soon since still many many shoes to go in the shoe challenge:)
