Winter Favorites

Although I have loads of favorite shoes (I have loads of favorites of everything), I only have a few winter suitable favorites. Winter just isn't my season. That said, these next shoes are definitely winter favorites hands down. I love these shoes. They are comfortable enough and I think they are super stylish. I also love that they can be styled three ways (you can either fold them completely over, or fold them over leaving part up - that's how I usually wear them, or you can have them all up).

Shoes saved: Gamloong shearling detail fold-over ankle boots
Worn on: last Monday (6.1.) shopping trip*
Wearing: H&M coat, H&M studded bag, Reserved mini skirt, vintage sweater, H&M opaque tights

*bought the cutest white leather motorcycle jacket at Zara (amazing quilting detail, will show you once it's Spring, promise)

I looked through the blog but couldn't find their last year's shoe save (I didn't look too thoroughly though and yes, I do the challenge every year) but I did find the year before and the post when I bought them. Man time flies!

Below is another example of when I wore these shoes this year - I think I mentioned it, saying that I wanted to get better pictures and this photo below was all I had at the time. But anyways, it goes to show that I do wear these shoes a lot and if you check out the older posts you can see that they go equally well with jeans as they do with short skirts. I love a versatile shoe...

Saturday Night Out

Hey everyone, I promised you the Saturday night out outfit and here it is (and traditionally, it was three in the morning when these photos were taken - the things I do for this blog, seriously).

Shoes saved: Iron Fist "Loose Tooth" wedges
Worn on: 14.12.2013 - to the pub
Wearing: Zara Woman winter coat, H&M black and white scarf, H&M dress, Stradivarius oversized cardigan, F&F super warm tights, H&M bag, Hot Topic skull heart earrings

So, these are the shoes I bought on Saturday. Aren't they ridiculously gorgeous?? I lurve them so much. They were on the more pricey side but luckily I had a discount as I collect ten stamps from prior purchases (I guess I go to the Iron Fist shop quite a bit). They're called Loose Tooth wedges but I call them my skull face wedges. I think they're adorable. I knew it wouldn't be difficult to save them in the challenge because they're a really interesting shoe but when I save a shoe the day I buy them, well, that's love.

I especially love that side view but the view from the bottom isn't bad either. (The second shoe has this little grave with "Wish you were here" written on it - so cheeky.) As for comfort and walk-ability, well, I did last all night in them and with quite a bit of walking around Prague city center so I'd say they passed that test. Though, I have to say, they do have a high heel (13 cm) but there's a platform so it's not so bad. You just have to be careful while walking on those darn cobble stones. Anyways, I'm off to walk the pig and then have a uni Christmas party. Later, mwah.

Favorites

I don't always feel like blogging and if I have a lot to do on a particular day, I usually skip writing anything because I hate rushing posts. That's basically what had happened yesterday. I went to work, went to Uni, had to stop by the study department to get my student card renewed. I know, I should have done that ages ago but I couldn't be bothered. Then I had to stop by M's to fix a computer issue and then I had a dinner date. Anyways, I had forgotten to post these photos sooner, though this is a save from some time ago and what better time than now, right? These are some of my favorite shoes of all time, seriously. I love these.

Shoes saved: Topshop Kane studded strap flats
Worn on: Friday 15.11.2013 - dinner date
Wearing: Zara Woman hooded coat (I love the hood on this coat), Pull&Bear sweater, Asos fishnet tights over H&M black tights, Liquor Brand leopard print bag (another favorite), gifted heart brooch on bag, borrowed mustard pashmina, Black sweater dress (not shown)

So, the shoes, I LOVE these shoes. They are made from super soft leather, they have a lovely faded dark grey color and I adore the studded straps. Yeah, it's really all about the studded straps! I've had them for ages and still love them. Once a friend from Uni told me "I think these are the only shoes I've ever seen you wear more than once" (not true, but not that far off either). I couldn't find a product photo and this was the only close-up photo I could find on my blog, but at least you get the general idea of the shoe. Lovely, isn't it?

On Wednesday I went to meet up with my friend when she arrived in Prague and we then had dinner and gossiped. I guess the modern way to deal with a break up is not to cry and eat chocolates but to drink beer, eat pizza and watch crappy television. She seemed way happier at the end of the evening so I guess this remedy totally works. We'll be meeting up tonight to do a stop of clubbing but I have an early-ish day tomorrow so I hope I won't get home too late.

Shoes saved: Asos Active Wedge Trainers in blue
Worn on: Wednesday 20.11.2013
Wearing: basically the only thing you can see is the end of my H&M mama coat but I also wore those elusive Asos satin shorts I wore to my brother's bday dinner that never got photographed (those little devils) and a Stradivarius long sleeve tee (goes perfectly with the shorts) and a black button down sweater.

Anyways, the shoes are pretty neat - they have a 8 cm wedge so are perfect for walking and are seriously as comfortable as trainers. You can see them here on Asos but they're sold out. Stay tuned for one more shoe save coming right up!

Movie VS Real Life

In an ideal world, I'd have a team supporting my blogging - someone to iron my clothes, someone to shine my shoes, but most importantly, someone to take my photos. In the real world, I'm my own support team and sometimes I convince my boyfriend to snap a photo of me. While on the subject of imaginary versus real life, the movie we went to see on Monday was "This is the End" where the actors are acting as themselves. I thought the idea was really good and sometimes the movie was really funny but I also thought the movie could have been better (those horrible masturbating arguments could have been cut out).

Shoes saved: Melissa Vinyl Wedge in Red
Where/ when: movie date, Monday night
Wearing: Zara Woman dress, Pull & Bear sweater, H&M Mama coat, H&M fake fur collar, Mark B for Topshop bag

As much as I love the brand Melissa, these definitely aren't my favorites. They pinch my toes so I only wear them about once a year for the challenge. And while I really like the Vinyl Wedges, I think I would have preferred them in the shiny plastic version instead of the ones I have (the furry ones). Oh well, can't have it all.

I also saved another pair of shoes - ones which are more comfortable than my Vinyl wedges but less stylish. These military style boots are winter favorites (especially since they have a zipper on the side and I don't have to do all the hard work lacing them up!) but are a bit harder to style. I first wore them on Sunday but didn't get any outfit photos so I wore them again.

Shoes saved: Motiv army boots
Wearing: Rare London dress, H&M army jacket

My brother is having a birthday dinner tonight (happy 30th!) so I'll save some pretty shoes tonight, until then, xo.

Boring to Wearable

I bought these shoes last year after finding out that the shoes I was waiting on weren't coming. It was a sad sad story of shipping malfunction, so in order to lift my spirits I bought these wedges. They were quite cheap and looked ok-ish so why not, right. Anyways, all-in-all I think I wore them like once (for the shoe challenge) and then forgot all about them. But then earlier this week I was thinking about purchasing these cowboy-esque boots from Asos and then coloring their wooden heel black (I'm not much of a fan of the wooden heel - I like a wooden wedge but when it's just the lone heel = yuck!) and then I thought of these wedges and knew I had to do a DIY. I like them now a lot more. I've worn them already but only took a phone photo of the outfit. Might post it later. Anyways, I hope yall have a lovely Easter, xox, V

Thinking about shoes..

I popped by my fave net store (asos) and was stunded by two pairs of booties. The first are Aldo and the second ones are Asos. Both leather, both wedges, one of which are currently now on half-off sale (the Asos ones). Hmmm. Of course, truth be told, I'm not buying either of them because a) I'm dead broke b) if I wasn't dead broke I'd use my money on Christmas pressies and not on shoes for myself (or well I figure I would, you never know..). So why am I talking about these ankle boots if I'm not buying these shoes? Cause a girl can dream right. (I prefer the first pair as a small salute to creepers.) Anyhoo, I've got a hellova day tomorrow so wish me luck and strong nerves! Xox, MsVeve

Lusting after..

As a happily coupled gal it's been a while since I've done a lusting after. Mainly because there was no space for other wants besides matters of the heart. Now, as things are slowly setting into place and a hopefully calm and happy era shall commence, I take this time to bring you another fashion filled lusting session. Wedges and hoods. OTT-ness to the extreme. Hot. Over-sized furry coats. This is what I'm saying. Definitely on my wish list. Among other things. On a shopping update, bought a lovely bright red winter coat, lush. And is exact same shade of red as new ADIDAS hold-all, so am now Miss Matchy Matchy and loving it loads. Stopped by H&M and bought two dresses, both in a rather holiday spirit. Shiny! Plus one over-sized black cardi. You can never have too many.. Also fed the literary beast and bought some books have been l.a. for ages (the first of Kathy Reichs' - Deja Dead, a collection of Yeats poetry - containing my favorite "Had I the heavens embroidered cloths.." - thou planning of giving this to my sis for X-mas, a book of spooky tales for my hunny and one I think my bro will enjoy). So have a few x-mas gifts checked off the list with still a few to go. What are you getting your loved ones?
