Past Events

 I know I promised to post the outfit from last night's anni dinner. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture. I wore a simple LBD with a studded belt. I'll snap it up sometime soon. Anyways, speaking of past events, on Monday, we went to a pig-christmas party (for members of our Pig Club) and here's a cute pic of me & Dracul. Here's me filling out the questinnaire we were all given to answer.

 And since I also said I'd be posting something from Vienna and then never did (not that I didn't want to, it was just that I hadn't had the time to sort through the photos yet...), here's at least one. Sale Finds: Santa's Little Helper

 I mentioned my H&M shopping spree yesterday and I would like to show you a couple things I bought. I'll start with this men's (size XS) checked shirt and overall miniskirt. I have been looking for a nice checked shirt for ages but either the pattern is horrific or they have some stupid frilly nonsense going on. Thus I ventured into the men's section and found the perfect alternative. Yes, I bought myself a men's shirt. I'd even shop in the kid's section (I have no shame) but they have too short sleeves... The overall miniskirt, though it kinda LOOKS like it might have come from the kid's section, it's classic Divided women style. Also it briefly reminded me of my favorite holiday costume outift: Angela's (from the Bones show) elf outfit from a Christmas episode a few seasons back..

 Here's a small reminder. Angie had the cutest shoes to match the outfit, though sadly I couldn't find a proper picture of them anywhere (just check out the episode.) Btw, how wicked is it that my overall miniskirt matches Brenan's lab coat. Hah. Speaking of Bones, I found a really sweet photo of Booth & Brenan..

 They totally remind me of Bonnie & Clyde, no? I love that they're finally together in the current season!

Bad Day Good Shoppping

 So today I had like the worst morning ever. I overslept and then raced out of the flat to get in time for my morning class and once at uni I found out that the morning class was cancled. Aaargh! So I stopped by some of my favorite shops and bought a bunch of stuff:)

A Special Christmas Gift (236)

So this is a Shoe Challenge post but it's a bit of a cheat since I don't have-have these shoes yet - I'll be officially getting them on Christmas as a pressie from the Boy. Anyways, these will be my most awesome and warmest winter boots and my solution for icy-freezing-cold weather. MoonBoots by Technica - I strongly recommend them!

Another pair (235)

 I aukroed this pair of Topshop mokasin below the knee boots and when they arrived, I was a tad dissapointed - they desperately needed a change. Thus, I DIYed them into ankle mokasin boots/flats. With my trusted H&M leg warmers they make a rad pair. Speaking of things that go together, my new H&M leather dress really likes my H&M grandpa sweater. I plan on wearing this on Christmas - along with a white turtleneck (that I still need to buy) underneath to add that special Christmas touch.

 I might add a leather bow belt as well. Or a Christmas elf hat? Who knows.

Though I love these shoes now that I DIYed them, I think they were a bit on the not-warm-enough side. They'll have their moment come spring.. as will most of my shoes. I'm just not a winter kind of gal. Though that might change with a certain Christmas gift I'm getting. (More on that in the next post.)

Funky Shoes (234)

Over the weekend the Boy & I were in Vienna and I saved another pair of shoes. I know you can't really see them but the boy is an unusual photographer and well it was bloody cold out so I didn't have the patience to take another photo. Anyways, these are the Funky Shoes grey wedged ankle boots I bought in Humanic (get clicky: http://msveve.blogspot.com/2011/08/180-shoe-shopping.html) and they are perfect for bad weather, with a thick sole and comfy wedge. Time of My Life

Tomorrow the Boy & I are heading to Vienna for a minibreak and to see the holiday market place etc. etc. I should already be packing. I should be cleaning the flat. Instead I was getting the last of the Christmas gifts in tact and also getting some computer things done. Uff, I'm exhausted! So now I'm gonna get straight into my PJ's and find the coziest spot to read:

Another Dressember: festive!

Yesterday I was all in clad holiday spirit, but my day got quickly really bad (on the way to uni I poured my latte all over myself in the tram, uggh. And then I failed a test://) but luckily I went to the pub with a classmate and drank the pain away. And thus today I slept in - skipping class - and am all like "what's going on?" It iss a good day. I am about to go brave the world and am heading out to my parents' house to pick some stuff up and then I need to head to the post office..

These are possibly my favorite pants - leather trousers via Zara. They are very hardcore-ish. They were totally begging for sparkle heels... Sometimes clothes get their wishes, it's a beautiful world. Topshop Sakura heels, Next sweater, NYr tee.

233 fake bows and all that cal

 I wasn't sure if I was going to include these shoes or not in the shoe challenge but then I thought "why not?" and so here they are.

Wearing: Topshop shorts, Zara tee, RayBan glasses, self-made bow (the second which I made on my sewing machine, so happy with it!). Below is a close-up of the heels from a different time I was wearing them...

 I love the block heel (and to think I've had these shoes or like what four five years? - pretty neat). And the color which I DIYed by adding loads of black shoe polish.

232 Waiting for Christmas!

 What: Topshop studded bow flats in brown leather, thrifted dress

 I bought these flats a while ago when Topshop were having their sale and they were the first Christmas pressie I bought (albeit a present for myself but whatever.)Anyways, I KNOW for a fact that I will get loads of wear out of these shoes. They are so me with the studs and the cute bow and the simpleness. I love them. I remember seeing them for the first time online in the sales department but they didn't have them in the Prague store (there is ONE Topshop store in Prague), so I waited a while and then they FINALLYgot them but were for full price here?? Now, I won't mind paying full price for them but since I knew they were half-off online I thought it would be ridiculous to pay full-price. So I waited some more and then they were mine.Oh, the drama of shoe buying!

Now the dress had no such drama, cause it's thrifted so I simply saw it, tried it on and bought it all in one go and that's probably what I love about thrifting the most. The carefreeness of it. Oh it's from Warehouse btw.

231 Sitting Duck

 Yup, it's another day of wearing a dress and saving shoes. You see, I have set myself a huge goal of ending the shoe challenge by the end of December (even though I'm going on holiday in January and could save the rest of my more summery shoes..) - but my reason for this is I want to take normal outfit photos and not have to stress about which shoes haven't been shown. And except for these and the few new additions, the ones that haven't yet been shown are the ones I don't particularly like. These I was saving for New Year's but then I thought: fuck it.

 Being it Dressember, I'm wearing a Zara dress and Lanvin for H&M heels. Though these shoes are definitely very cute, they are so so so uncomfortable!!! (Which is the reason why I decided to forget about New Year's..)

 And why I'm sitting down during these photos.. Weird thing is they WEREN'T so uncomfortable in store. What happened?? Why?! Bloody hell!

I've now got to head to work and stop by the post office so I'm gonna change into something more freezing wheather appropriate and then change back into this for dinner out - or I might opt for something entierly different - and save some more shoes. Who knows..

Read or Dead

This will definitely be the last post of today - I just felt that I had some making up to do for being m.i.a. since monday. Anyways, I thought I'd share a few current reads of mine. Starting with a book I just started and finished reading yesterday: Cecelia Ahern's "The Book of Tomorrow". Now, those who know me know I'm a big Ahern fan. I love how her books take the reader to a magical place and anything can happen. "The Book of Tomorrow" has that typical fairytale spirit of Cecelia's books and I enjoyed reading it. Though it won't get onto my list of top ten favorite books, it is worth while and I definitely do recommend it. (I even bought it for my sis for Christmas - I read mine via my Kindle btw.)

 Next we have Chuck Palanuik's "Haunted". The boy had read this book first and then he bought it for my brother for his bday and ever since I was dying to read it too. So I downloaded it online and well, I'm about half-way now and to be perfectly honest, I'm a bit dissapointed. I'm a Palanuik fan and all but this book just makes me depressed in a way, it is a perfect example of what' wrong with people - by this I mean that the way the characters behave is sad and pathetic. Some of the short stories are chilling and all-in-all it IS well written it's just, I dunno, I expected more haunting and less people just being nasty? But still, if you are a Palanuik fan, I'd say this is a must..

Last on today's book list is Cat Townsend's "Breaking the Rules" which is a sequel to "Sleeping Around" - Cat's first novel. I really enjoyed reading her first book so was thrilled to finally get my hands on the second (living in Prague definitely has it's down side to trying to get foreign books..or at least whilst being on a budget.) However, it is a tad dissapointing as she is missing her ex half the time and well, I kinda got bored and so have stopped reading somewhere near the middle of the book. I might try to finish it later and hopefully it could pick up a bit but truthfully, I don't expect it to.

Would Wear Didn't Wear

Today's addition of Would Wear Did Wear is for the purpose of another shoe challenge but with a twist - since there'll be no Did Wear photos. Why? My 'Did Wears' are PJs - and they don't photograph well harhar..

 So in my alter-reality this is what I'd be wearing today. I have already worn these H&M shiny brogues outside so this isn't a shoe challenge cheat. But when I had worn them I didn't stop to snapaty-snap-snap them with the cam. Because I'm quirky that way. So instead I give you an imaginery outfit post. Along with photoshop:

Dressember Yesterday

 Another day of dressember and a night out with the boy's friends. Sadly, it was fucking freezing and whilst waiting for the tram home I nearly froze to death. But I braved it in a dress nonetheless. I also whopped out my largest shawl ever - courtesy of Zara. Oh and remember how I promised I'd have a new scanner soon? Well, I've got it from Tuesday but @%$! it doesn't work on my OS. I might just actually be cursed.

 But enough about my mishaps.. and on to the more important part of this blog - what I wore. Besides the aformentioned Zara scarf. There's the Asos coat, Zara hat, Vagabond boots, H&M dress, Topshop belt, Mango sweater, Stradivarius bag. Basically my favorite stuff.

 I took this photo right before crossing the bridge and entering the pub and I wish I had taken the time to take a proper pic but like I said, it was bloody cold and the snow/rain was starting to fall and I was in a hurry. Still, it is a fantastic view, I love the Prague castle!

So this is Christmas..

Every year I give myself a pressie as well as buying gifts for my loved ones, after all I love myself too. This year my present consisted of a two-pairs-of-shoes-asos-order. And they arrived today!

 Melissa + Barbie = stiletto print ballerina pump. Awesome. (Am thinking about getting the black ones too.)

 Asos pretty lace brogues - these will definitely get a lot of wear once it's spring..

Though I'm excited about the holidays, I cannot wait for January to be over (with my uni exams and signing up for classes in the next semester over too) and I am already longing for the summer. Living in Prague means there will definitely be a LOT of waiting for the warmer days to arrive. But there's definitely a few things to be able to look forward to this month as well: Vienna trip in two weeks (excited!), last of the Christmas shopping, holiday cookies!, family time, being lazy and watching fairytales, building a snowman, snowball fights, hot chocolate, walking hand-in-hand in the moonlight with the freshsnow crunching below your feet - yeah, winter does have a FEW pluses. Hope everyone finds something to be happy about**

Dressember 5: Shoe Challenge 229

 Today is a special Dressember day since FINALLY I'm saving some shoes! I'm cutting gym class today - again - so will get away with wearing heels, yeay. Wearing: Topshop dress, asos Sabrina slipper heels

 Whilst the dress was bought on sale like a year ago, these shoes were ordered via Asos the moment they appeared on site. I fell in love with them right away. The tartan print mixed with the slipper-esque vamp: LOVE. Add that funky heel and you got a keeper. However, they aren't as easy to wear as I originally thought (e.g. definitely not the most comfy shoes and with the rainy season in Prague now, you get the idea right..)

But today is a special day and these shoes do need the saving. See you later for more shoe/dress action. Xox, MsV

Dressember 4: Nurnberg

 Today the boy & his mum and dad & I went for a little car trip to Germany to see the holiday stands in Nurnberg. And to drink wine. You must drink hot wine whilst in Nurnberg. It's tradition. (Also you must eat loads and loads and then hardly fit into the car for the trip back hahah.)

 They have such lovely streets and the market stands are quite unique too. We have them in Prague but I have the feeling ours are much cheaper/of worse quality than the ones of our German neighbors.

Evidence that I really wore a dress in the cold and rain. Surprisingly I think I prefer to wear skirts/dresses in the worse weather. Just me? Oh well.. you'll have to take my word for it that it does have a few pluses..
