Winter Favorites

Although I have loads of favorite shoes (I have loads of favorites of everything), I only have a few winter suitable favorites. Winter just isn't my season. That said, these next shoes are definitely winter favorites hands down. I love these shoes. They are comfortable enough and I think they are super stylish. I also love that they can be styled three ways (you can either fold them completely over, or fold them over leaving part up - that's how I usually wear them, or you can have them all up).

Shoes saved: Gamloong shearling detail fold-over ankle boots
Worn on: last Monday (6.1.) shopping trip*
Wearing: H&M coat, H&M studded bag, Reserved mini skirt, vintage sweater, H&M opaque tights

*bought the cutest white leather motorcycle jacket at Zara (amazing quilting detail, will show you once it's Spring, promise)

I looked through the blog but couldn't find their last year's shoe save (I didn't look too thoroughly though and yes, I do the challenge every year) but I did find the year before and the post when I bought them. Man time flies!

Below is another example of when I wore these shoes this year - I think I mentioned it, saying that I wanted to get better pictures and this photo below was all I had at the time. But anyways, it goes to show that I do wear these shoes a lot and if you check out the older posts you can see that they go equally well with jeans as they do with short skirts. I love a versatile shoe...

Brightening My Winter

I thought I'd post this on Monday but I didn't manage it. Over the weekend M and I went to the movies to see the Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. I quite liked the movie though I have some minor issues with it: a) it was too long and there were a bunch of scenes that could have been left out b) all of the Hobbits films could really have been one film instead of three - or at least just two (skipping the first one) c) there really was no need for the cinema to schedule a break in between the movie, it's long but it's not that long d) I kinda sympathized with the dragon. Otherwise it was an enjoyable night and I was glad to get to save some shoes!

Shoes saved: H&M black wedges (I've had these for ages)
Wearing: Asos green coat, Zara Woman bright yellow miniskirt (a favorite), Zara TRF skull sweat shirt, Promod lace top, F&F super warm tights, H&M studded bag, Promod earrings, Asos watch

Before I get to the shoes or the outfit, I had to share these two sort of unrelated photos. Above, this completely ridiculous photo of M and I. I was taking a selfie (and you know how bad I am at that) and he photobombed me while driving. His facial expression kills me. Below, a wine I saw and am dying to try out. I mean, common, it's called FAT bastard. And it has a hippo on the cover, must be good, right? Anyone ever try it?

Back to the exciting stuff. Yeah... This was one of my favorite outfits that I worn over the past few weeks. I love the miniskirt, it has the most lovely color ever. And I love a green coat. I kept the rest of it more neutral with blacks and greys and I think the outfit really worked. I love the idea of wearing happy colors in the winter but usually I just wear black, so I was super happy with  myself here.

Hey It's Still Winter Over Here!

Dear Readers,
whoever has Spring-like weather already - I'm entirely jealous! It's bloody winter over here, with the freezing nights and the snow we'll be getting tomorrow. I'm basically wearing various versions of the outfit pictured below - warmest coat, thick shawl, hat, gloves, jeans, trusty boots. Plus multiple sweaters. Seriously, no fun. I mean, don't get me wrong, I LIKE outerwear and layering and all that and I adore cute boots too but after a while it gets old and you just want to put on a cute dress and a pair of sandals. Or wedges. Or ballerina flats. Man, I miss those the most right now!

Pictured above: Zara coat, Zara jeans, Zara boots, Stradivarius bag, Pull&Bear shawl, thrifted sweater, Roma gloves, Gate hat

Actually, I had some fun outfit wise on Saturday. The boy & I & some friends went to a pub and then for cocktails. I threw caution to the wind and wore a cute dress and AMAZING shoes, with a V-neck sweater and a thinner coat. I felt gorgeous, but I did almost freeze to death. All-in-all it was worth it (especially since we took a taxi home!) and surprisingly my feet weren't killing me at all.

H&M dress, Bershka sweater, Asos mustache watch, Stradivarius bag and Maison Martin Margiela for H&M boots with plexi glass wedge (it's looks like I'm walking on air - perfection!)

Sorry that the picture isn't better but it was taken via my phone cam and was posted on instagram, follow me here.

Sleek and Fun

Over the weekend (Saturday night) the boy and I went out with friends to nearby pubs. Recently, a few friends of the boy's moved into a flat near us and it's great to have them so close - cause having a few drinks and being in (a short) walking distance of your flat is BLISS.

What I was wearing: Stradivarius cape coat, H&M dress, H&M tights, Stradivarius bag, Lipsy bangle watch, leather gloves, Topshop earmuffs, Asos fold-over ankle boots
Asos ankle boots
These boots were an impulse buy over a year ago and have been worn many many times since. They are a perfect heel height, love the lace-up style of the shoe, the fold-over detail is rather cute and are just perfect for the winter-spring transition. Sadly they no longer have them over at Asos.com but I've seen similar style popping up all over the place. Are you all as sick of winter as I am? What are you wearing to keep those winter blues in check? Xox, Miss V

Winter & Desserts

Yesterday I wrote about chocolate chip cookies. But that was yesterday.. Today is a completely different story. Right. Anyways, I popped by the sweet shop and bought a coconut cookie (for the boy) and a cream puff (for me). These are without a doubt two of my favorite treats. The good thing about winter is you get to treat yourself to some awesome sweets. Summer just isn't the same in the sweets department.
And in order to survive in this winter wonderland you have to bundle up. I was wearing 2 sweaters, a shirt and a tank top underneath my jacket! (I accidently took a video of my outfit instead of a photo - silly me.) I wore this to my big exam (a written one so I got away with wearing jeans) and now I'm sleepy so nighty night, xox, Miss V

Another wintery day

I am a summer girl. Or at the very least a spring girl. Winter on the other hand is my nemesis. It brings me down. And in order to stay my cheerful self I wear beautiful bright colors. Like this shawl. I believe this shawl deserves special attention. It was a gift from the boy's parents and I marvel at how well they chose. (shawl - Espirit, hat - Zara, jacket - H&M, plus a million layers and a pair of cargo pants:) I am so excited about going on vacation next week - it will be well deserved if I manage to finish all my uni assignments!

Oh no.. it's winter again!

Photos by Midzu Gombitova

It's that horrible time of year again, when the wonderful indian summer and warm autumn days are forever (or feels like anyways) replaced by rain, hail and snow. When there's nothing left but to bundle up, put a bloody hat on or die. Now this time around, I'm ready. Really, I am! I've already bought three hats, a winter coat, 2 pairs of ugg boats (I know, how sad, but it gets SO cold here there's really no choice!), warm black leather winter boots, a number of huge shawls and today - finally - a pair of long leather gloves. They could totally be longer but oh well.. I've also dugged out this incredible real fur black vintage coat from our basement. Now that should totally keep me warm.. But still, when I think that all over the world some happy girls are wearing little cute dresses right this minute sans the winter coat, it's like uggh, fucking Prague with your crap weather. Like no wonder I don't have a tan..

Photos are from a photoshoot that took place about three weeks ago. Wearing wonderfully short Topshop dress, Topshop belt and Topshop earrings. Stradivarius vest, H&M skirt, Mango lace undertop, Zara heels, Topshop bracelet and H&M fakefur collar.

Plus what I nowadays have to wear to work: Bershka WINTER coat, Zara huuuuuge winter shawl and winter hat, am so not looking forward to the (even!)colder days that are ahead.. and now it says in the news that the horrid colder weather ("December-like") is to come super early on. Oh noooo!

Overload

This picture may look innocent enough but notice all my surroundings! I've no where to put my clothes! Help! Planning huge clean up for the w/e.. and will be putting all too-summery clothes into boxes and storing them for the upcoming winter. An activity I have managed to avoid for the past couple of years but now, cause I just don't fit with all my stuff, seems the best way to get a bit more room. Also no more shopping, obviously. (Like I could anyways, sooo broke:))

Wearing: Mango sunglasses and black sweater, Topshop red dress, belt and earrings.
