Snow Digging

Hey guys, this will be a quick little post as I'm just taking a break from studying (it is not going well, I can't seem to concentrate). The majority of these photos are from this morning while I was out walking Dracul. He was fascinated by the snow and wanted to dig in it, but at the same time he was cold and didn't want to be outside. What can I say, it's a pig problem.

Shoes saved: F&F snow boots bought two years ago?
Wearing: Zara TRF coat, swamped tee/tunic, F&F legging style pants, pig walking bag

It's day two of the lipstick challenge so I'm still wearing my favorite, 112 "Pink Lemonade" lipstick by L'Oreal, but I added a coat of Maybelline Color sensational Popsticks in 070 "Orange Crush". You can't really tell much of a difference as the Maybelline goes on almost clear, I was just playing around with it. I used my Blink eyeliner by BarryM again (well first I tried to use Rimmel's scandalous eyes eyeliner but that didn't work at all - I usually like Rimmel products but this one is really crap).

Back to the shoes. I actually saved these a few days ago but only had one picture that I posted on my instagram and the photo wasn't even very nice, so I decided to re-save them. This way Mr. Pig got to be a guest star.

In other news, I created a new blog and it's dedicated to food and healthy cooking. I haven't posted anything yet but I'm planning to start as soon as my exams are through. I need to start eating healthier and I thought this would be the perfect way to do so. Here's yesterday's dinner as a teaser for the blog to come - cherry tomatoes, carrot, cucumber, sunflower seed bread roll and hummus. So delicious and very filling as well. I have to go now but hopefully I'll get at least one pair of shoes saved during the weekend so I'll have something to post before the big exam on Thursday. I'm already so nervous, please wish me the best of luck. See you soon, mwah.

A Strange Coat and a Stranger Hat

This is really more of a files of new than a shoe save post but what the heck, why not right? A few days ago I thrifted this totally warm and completely Russian vibe coat. It's from Mexx and to be honest I do feel a bit strange while wearing it but it's coat and I just need to style it differently.

Shoes saved: thrifted and DIYed leather boots (I shortened them)
Wearing: Mexx thrifted coat, Mango jeans, Promod turtleneck, H&M studded bag

I'm kinda thinking I might get rid of these shoes even though they are now officially saved.I just don't like them that much but again I think it might be due to styling and I'll give them one more shot. I wanted to share one more photo with you in this post and it's from yesterday while I was walking Mr. Pig. Do I look like those Brit soldiers that guard Buckingham Palace? :))

Happy New Year!

I'll start this with a belated Happy New Year! I mentioned that horror of fireworks in my last post so I won't go into it again but I will say this - I was happy when it was Wednesday and things settled down.

Wednesday was perfect - M and I had lunch with family and then headed to our favorite walking route to see our little friends. We think they're muskrats. They are the cutest ever. We fed them some apples and a carrot and some bread. They're very used to people so they weren't afraid of us at  all.

On Thursday I had to go to work and so I wore my winter uniform and some warm shoes. And oh I have a new phone! So I finally have an iphone now. I got it from M for Christmas. It's pink so I love it but I'm still getting used to it. I was pretty tight with my Samsung so it's quite a change. But the camera works wonders better so I'm very happy about that!

Shoes saved in the challenge: Asos Aspen lace-up duck boots
Wearing: Zara Woman winter coat, United colors of Benetton scarf, H&M studded bag, Mango skinny jeans (need to buy a new pair - that's my mission for the winter sales, to score a new pair of jeans as my black pair is already totally ruined and this one is holding on by a thread), Reserved sweater

I like these shoes alright but I must say I was a bit (well, very) disappointed when I got them because the color was different from the product picture. As you can see in the image above, the shoe is a dark blue - basically the same color as my jeans, but in the product picture, the shoe looks black. I would have preferred if the shoe was black as it would be more versatile. However, I like them okay with these jeans so it isn't a complete tragedy. I have two more shoe saves from this week but I'll save them for next week. So that I don't overwhelm you! See you next time, bya.

Holiday Happiness

Hey everyone, I hope you are all enjoying the holidays. My week was a bit hectic and then totally relaxing so it's all good. I haven't really been saving shoes much but I did save a pair today (which I'll post later) and I have these photos from a past save to show you today.

Shoes saved: Zara leather boots
Wearing: Zara Woman winter coat, H&M scarf, Zara miniskirt, Stradivarius long sleeved top, pig walking bag

Even Dracul likes these boots...

These are one of my all-time favorite boots but sadly they peep in some stores (?!), which is insanely irritating. I went to the Zara store to get them unblocked or whatever but they don't peep in the Zara store and they ran the boots through their magnetic thingy and they still peep in some other stores. So I only wear them when I know I won't be shopping. Like for a walk with Mr. Pig. But all-in-all I knew these boots wouldn't be hard to save in the challenge because they are ridiculously comfortable and I think they are pretty as well. Which is really what all shoes should be. (That's kinda funny since the shoes I wore out to lunch today - you can see them on my instagram - are the exact opposite = completely unwearable. I'll be posting that save on Monday.) So anyways I hope your weekend is great and I'll see you all on Monday.

Pig'smas

This year was definitely a first - I've never had a real Christmas tree before and we got one this year. It is super small and seriously cute. We decorated it with tiny ornaments and these adorable little lights. It sits proudly on our living room table.

I really like the photo above because you can see my favorite painting in the background. The kitchen may be a bit of a mess so don't study the photos too closely.

The tree looks especially beautiful when it's dark and the tree lights are on. I couldn't get a good picture though, but I kinda like the imperfect one I did manage, because the lights look like little hearts. Aww.

Anyways, as the title of the post belied - this post is dedicated to my little dude. Mr. Pig is really enjoying Christmas this year - he's already received most of his presents (well, I still have to make one more but more on that in a different post) but he's really more into the food than the material stuff. Still, as every animal owner will surely agree, it's pretty awesome spoiling your little companion.

My dwarf pig may not be so dwarf anymore but he's still my little piggy in my heart. And every little piggy needs a teddy bear. Yeah, we got Dracul the pig a teddy bear. Isn't he the cutest? And he's super soft too. Dracul tends to throw him off his bed but I know he likes him deep down.

We also got this super cute painting for his room. The majestic pig. Below you can also see a further-away-photo to get the idea how big the painting is. It's average size but I think it fits in the room perfectly.

Obviously, I also got my people friends and family gifts. I realized that although I love to gift wrap presents, I actually kinda suck at it. And some things are soooo hard to wrap it's insane. I'm still getting a few more things today but it's just some odds and ends. I'm hiding the presents in my shoe room. Very conspicuous...

Daily Adventures

Like I mentioned in my last post, Monday was as full of activity as was the weekend. Our institute hosted a symposium that I was obliged to attend. I had uni classes in the morning and I went running before going to school, then I attended the work event. Then I went home to tend to the pig and later still I went to the pub with friends. HECTIC.

Shoes saved: Zara boots (I DIYed these from knee highs to ankle boots)
Worn on: Monday 18.11.2013 - uni classes and work symposium
Wearing: Asos coat, Mark B for Topshop bag, Pull &Bear sweater (I have more of these, I liked this sweater so much I went back to the store and loaded up on them), Zara dress (which is way cute and am a bit sad that you can't see it)

*I don't know why the photo above looks so weird. It looks completely fine on my computer but it loaded strangely onto the blog. But I can't be bothered to look into the code to fix it.You can see the photo here.

The work event was okay, but the pub later was better haha. We went to Lokal - I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone coming to Prague and looking for good beer. I'll post that outfit in the next post but I promised you the outfit that I wore to M's for lunch and here it is:

Shoes saved: one of my all-time favorite shoes - River Island Furry Ankle Boots
Wearing: Zara leopard print pants (I know, these pants are insane), H&M tee, H&M jacket, vintage leather bag, phone & headphones (have been IN LOVE with the Kills lately and listening to them nonstop, and also this song from the White Stripes - which I absolutely adore).

I don't blog enough about these ankle boots but they really are the best. They are super warm, outrageously comfortable and yet still unique enough to stand out. I love them. But I should have probably worn them with different pants as the leopard print really steals the show, doesn't it? And not entirely in a good way. Here you can see how the shoes look with black pants and I think they work better that way. (And hey, it's the old flat! Prague 4, I miss you!). Anyways, the leo pants are crazy hard to style to make them seem normal. I think they look good when paired with neutral flats and just a tee but they're definitely not good for layering. But I was in a hurry and just went with it. They probably looked even worse when I wore them to walk the pig but the pig looks cute here so I'm posting it. It's time for a super late dinner so I have to finish and run, see y'all tomorrow.

This is a shoe challenge post.

Finally Fall

So far this week has been pretty good - the weather has been nice and sunny, work has been alright and yesterday I went to see Escape Plan. I actually really liked the movie, it's an action flick, the screenplay could have been a bit better but Arnie and Stallone are both very good in it (especially Arnie, I thought he was hilarious). I'll have the date night outfit for you in a later post (as some of the photos are on M's phone and though I've asked him to send them to me, he hasn't done so yet. Typical.)

However, there have been other shoes and other outfits that I will gladly show you now. (After all, there's a challenge going on and my shoes need saving!) This week finally feels like Fall (instead of a bleak winter which is what we usually have here in Prague). I took advantage of it and yesterday during the day went out wearing only a blazer and a long sleeved tee paired with a bright colored miniskirt. I apologize in advance for the "I'm taking a selfie" expression on my face. It's because I always feel ridiculous taking a selfie. But whatever, the outfit was cute.

Shoes saved: Next leather flats with buckle/bow detail
Where/ when: Monday - uni, lunch, work
Wearing: Stradivarius jersey blazer, Stradivarius long sleeved black top, Espirit shawl, Zara miniskirt, opaque tight, Mark B for Topshop bag

Next is a save from sometime last week. I can't remember which day I wore it though I think it was on Thursday. Anyways, these shoes are quite old and they're not really that special or anything, but I like the chain detail and they're good for when I just want to throw some shoes on and not really think about it. Though to be honest, I think they'll become pig walking shoes soon. And that means that pretty soon I'll need a new pair of flat ankle boots. Yeay, shoe shopping is near!

Shoes saved: Zara TRF chain detail flat ankle boots
Where/ when: sometime last week, uni classes
Wearing: Zara skinny jeans, Topshop coat

I'm off to watch the latest episode of Bones. Booth and Brennan are getting married! So I'll leave you with a photo of Mr. Pig. He's so cute right? And it's a photo of a pig in a blanket. You're welcome.

Tumbling Down a Steep Hill

It's early, well relatively. It'd be early if it was the weekend and I had a lazy day ahead of me. But it's Tuesday, I should already be out with the pig and getting ready for school. Instead I'm drinking mild coffee, downloading a textbook to my kindle and of course, saving some shoes in the shoe challenge. And I'm also very tempted to watch the latest Bones episode, but I think I should wait until after school.

Shoes saved: Zara Collection leather brogues
Where/ when: Saturday, pig day* (I wore these to my parents' house, we took the pig so we could wash him, and then to the animal day festival I mentioned in a previous post.)
Wearing: Mango jeans (these are favorites but sadly they seem to have really paled in the last wash even though I turned them inside out and used a special washing detergent for black clothes), H&M grey & black tee, Zara button up sweater, H&M coat, vintage bag.

Mr. Pig was very tired after his long day. I love spending time with Dracul but sometimes it's hard since he can be difficult and people - strangers we meet - can get seriously annoying. Like at the animal festival day thing, our pig club had a booth there and so we stopped by to support them. All of a sudden there was a huge crowd and people were just touching Dracul without asking and even some parents were telling their kids to go pet the pig (even if the kid in question had some food in his/her hands. Besides this being totally stupid behavior, it's also dangerous. Hello, it's a pig; a live, perpetually hungry, semi wild pig.) I don't mind people petting Dracul if they ask and if he's in a good mood (because he's a very social animal and luckily likes contact with people and enjoys a good back rub), but I find it very strange when people just assume that it's okay and don't ask.

I was also disappointed in one of the members of our pig club (and I don't mean about the argument a friend had with the boy, I'm talking about someone else). She fed Dracul food without asking and was giving him a lot of food. I don't mind the feeding part but when there's food and someone gives him food then he gets all excited/ crazy. We then had to leave because if someone would have then came up to him to pet him, he'd have been all crazy and then might of even bitten someone. Not that he did, but it could have happened.

This Saturday is another pig club day, which we have to go to since it's a vet meeting and Dracul needs his hooves shortened and he needs to get his vaccination. I hope it goes more smoothly and that there are no problems this time. Anyways, back to the shoes. These are a pair of older brogues I bought three winters ago in the post Christmas sale. They are perfect and I love them. Soft leather, nice detailing, pure comfort shoes. You can see when I wore them previously (though I don't always post about it, I wear them quite a bit) here (my favorite), here and here.
