Saturday Night Out

Hey everyone, I promised you the Saturday night out outfit and here it is (and traditionally, it was three in the morning when these photos were taken - the things I do for this blog, seriously).

Shoes saved: Iron Fist "Loose Tooth" wedges
Worn on: 14.12.2013 - to the pub
Wearing: Zara Woman winter coat, H&M black and white scarf, H&M dress, Stradivarius oversized cardigan, F&F super warm tights, H&M bag, Hot Topic skull heart earrings

So, these are the shoes I bought on Saturday. Aren't they ridiculously gorgeous?? I lurve them so much. They were on the more pricey side but luckily I had a discount as I collect ten stamps from prior purchases (I guess I go to the Iron Fist shop quite a bit). They're called Loose Tooth wedges but I call them my skull face wedges. I think they're adorable. I knew it wouldn't be difficult to save them in the challenge because they're a really interesting shoe but when I save a shoe the day I buy them, well, that's love.

I especially love that side view but the view from the bottom isn't bad either. (The second shoe has this little grave with "Wish you were here" written on it - so cheeky.) As for comfort and walk-ability, well, I did last all night in them and with quite a bit of walking around Prague city center so I'd say they passed that test. Though, I have to say, they do have a high heel (13 cm) but there's a platform so it's not so bad. You just have to be careful while walking on those darn cobble stones. Anyways, I'm off to walk the pig and then have a uni Christmas party. Later, mwah.

Uncle Karl & Melissa

When I recently read in a magazine that Karl Lagerfeld was teaming up with Melissa I was super excited. I had visions of Chanel and plastic. Sadly, the collection is really tiny (4 different styles of shoes: 2 flats, 2 heeled, 0 wedges :/ ) and they're not really me. I do like the heeled shoes though. The color options aren't amazing but I did like the blue pair of the Ginga shoe (they're fun enough in the blue version for me to give them a go):

And the shiny white pair of the Incense (hey, a shoe with an ice-cream cone, I'm game):
However, I'm not as in love with these as I am with the Vivienne Westwood collection. I mean, I wouldn't say no to them if they were gifted or for cheap but to actually dish out loads when I'm currently on a budget? Not thank you. And to be honest, the flats are hideous. Sorry uncle Karl. Better luck next time.

Thrifted

I've been trying to save money lately and so I haven't been buying anything, let alone shoes. But this past week I happened upon the following pairs for ridiculously low prices and being me, I couldn't resist.

These are a pair of peep toe heels with a darling bow on the front of the shoe. The brand is one I haven't heard of before, called "Baby Angel". The shoe has a really cute logo on the inside (not pictured, sorry) of a baby devil head in pink.

But really, they had me at the bow. On to the next pair: gorgeous strappy sandals by Gucci. They are very delicate and I wouldn't usually go for this type of shoe, but from the moment I put them on, there was no way I was not going to be taking them home. They feel like a "Cinderella" shoe.

Next is a "fun"pair (and actually the pair I bought first, sometime last week, while all the others were bought today). Again it's from a brand I didn't know, called "Roots". These shoes are the only ones that I bought that are not high heeled. They have a tiny tiny little heel, almost like a kitten heel but much smaller and more like a wedge. (I hate kitten heels btw.) I like the flower detail and the nice bright color.

Last is another pair of heeled sandals. These are Hugo Boss and are a beautiful baby pink color. They are quite high but still comfortable enough. However, what really captured me is the fastening of the ankle strap: I love that it goes twice around the ankle. All of the shoes except for the red pointed toe "flats" (with a heel that small, they are basically flats) cost 50 crowns each and the red flats cost 75 crowns. the Gucci and the Hugo Boss shoes are real leather whereas the two other pairs are not. I think all of these shoes will be nice additions to my shoe collection and I cannot wait to wear them (I'll be going to the pub tonight and have no clue which ones to choose!).

Yaddy Ya Ya

Sorry it's taken me ages to write. But life has been wintery and boring. We went to see the house - it was not what I was expecting. Way too close to the road, in need of a LOT of renovation and the garden wasn't too pretty. So now I'm thinking maybe it's better to buy a flat. Somewhere relatively close to the city center. Or maybe right smack IN the center? That would be pretty cool.

The boy found a really awesome flat right in the center - but of course it's not in my budget (it's about a million crowns over the limit). So that would be a no. But darn it, I don't want to settle! I want to LOVE the place I will live. I want it to be the home of my dreams!

Okay, I'll stop whining now. On a plus note, an Asos order I had been waiting on arrived.
The boots are gorgeous BUT the fit isn't right. They're a tiny bit too small and I can't get the zipper to close. I'm debating with myself if I should keep them/ return them to Asos or try to sell them. It's a hard decision. Because I hate returning anything and I'd have to pay for shipping which is super annoying. So I think I'll try to sell them via aukro or just keep them. Maybe I can wear them without the zipper closed?

Anyways, I'm off to a work seminar and then have a very busy weekend planned full of boring studying, going to the pub and family lunches. See you soon, xo, V

ASOS haul

Asos creepers, ordered yesterday
About a week or so ago and yesterday I purchased a couple of things over on Asos. I have been spending a little too much money lately but sometimes you need to go all out in order to really enjoy the shopping moment. Anyways, I wanted to share what I bought (although the items have not arrived yet). Above is a pair of Asos creepers. Those who know me, know I love me some creepers and I only have a few pairs (a tartan pair, a black suede pair and a black leather pair), so when I saw these were on sale, I thought "add to bag". It was the only rational thought that could have been, trust.
Asos quilted mini skirt with heart pockets, ordered last week
Something I'm really into at the moment is quilted materials. So when I saw this quilted mini skirt with heart pockets (=awesome), it quickly found its way into my shopping bag. I do wonder how it will look in real life, but I think it will get its fair share of wear during the colder months. Plus I could wear it on Valentine's Day... Will keep you posted.
Tortoise belt, Asos, ordered last week
How cute are those turtles, right?? and for only £4.50? I'd call that a bargain.
Asos wedge trainers, ordered last week
I had been ogling these wedges for ages. I was a bit torn between needing another pair of wedge trainers and well, not needing them. In the end I decided I obviously did need them after all and happily added them to the list.
Ssusan Caplan for Asos vintage snake ring, ordered yesterday
Last but not least is this two-headed snake ring. I sure hope it fits (the size wasn't mentioned), but the thing is, I used to have a two-snakes ring (the anniversary ring of my grandma) but I lost it like five years ago (it simply slipped off my finger, I still morn the loss to this day) and this ring sort of reminded me of it (though my original ring was much much MUCH nicer, it was silver and it was actually two snakes not a two-headed snake but whatever) so I'm going to give it a try. I cannot wait for the items to arrive (the first order should arrive any day now). To be honest, if I could have I would have bought like a million more things but I'm happy with what I have ordered so far and hopefully the items will match my expectations of them. Hope you all have a lovely weekend, till next time, xo, V

Last Minute Online Shopping

all curtesy of Asos (totally my favorite place to shop, mainly for their free shipping). I decided I needed more geek chic glasses (and am thinking might get my perscription lenses installed into them, but we'll see, given the price), second I have been ohhing and ahhing over Miss KG heels for a long time and thought that at the bargain price of 15 pounds, it was a given (plus all those cute little bows?) and last but not least, yall know that I'm already on the autumn/winter band wagon. These I think will be a nice addition to my shoe collection. (*my shoe number will stay at 213 though, since I am planning to throw out/donate to a charity shop a few pairs that needa go.) The worst thing though is that new stuff I want keeps popping up all the time and it's just post pay day and already I'm almost outta money. Horrible horrible! I'm also currently lusting after a scanner for my computer, for I have a new idea for this blog but without a scanner it's doomed. It's all in the stars though, as these tings tend to be.)) xoxo, MsV

Getting Ready For Fall

My recent Asos purchases: the Aspen lace-up duck boot (which I reckon will look really sweet with little skirts) and the Asos leather harness belt. I've been wanting a harnesss belt for a while now and though this one wasn't cheap, it still was worth it. Lately I've been thinking about autumn/winter clothes and shoes already and it's kinda sad in a way, this summer seems to have passed by so fast and I still have over 20 pairs of open-toed shoes/sandals to get through. Ughhh. But I've still got at least a month left to attempt to get by, so hopefully I'll manage. Speaking of managing though, I've got two uni exams coming up and I should seriously start studying. What a drag! Wish me luck:)

Recently purchased items

My love for Asos.com is nothing new. They have some amazing shoes (even from their own line) and stock brands such as Kurt Geiger and Irregular Choice. Further more, they have FREE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. Which equals to The Best Thing Ever.
I couldn't resist buying these shoes. It was my birthday. I had been lusting after: block heeled shoes (check), polka dotted heels (check), red heels (check), pvc heeled shoes (check) and some crazy wedges (check check).
I'm still lusting after a pair of wedges with multi strap buckles. Such as the Bertie Superstar wedges. But no such luck in that area. Seems that everytime I find I shoe like that it is already hopelessly sold-out. Big time bummer.
I'm also craving some leopard print wedged booties (preferrably ope toed, such as the legendary Topshop ones), found a sweet pair over at Amazon.co.uk but their shipping is just ridiculous. Ugh.

Truth.

I probably don't need any new shoes. But the things is, when I'm not feeling my best? When I get sad or hurt or worried, I feel like I not only need new shoes but that having new shoes changes the moment. Thus I don't have to be sad/hurt/worried anymore, because there I am thinking about shoes instead and feeling more or less happy. Shopping in general makes me happier and if I had endless resources than that wouldn't be a problem. But since I'm just a student/part-time employee money issues to tend to be severe sometimes. I just can't help it though, I mean sometimes there's just no other way how to calm myself down other than to go and get my mind set on new things. It's like a unbreakable cykle of sin. Sometimes it's like I can't function. I can't even think straight. Like right now? Right now I'm supposed to be studying for Thursday's exam. And what am I doing instead? Looking thru Asos and other favorite sites and thinking about shoes. I must stop I know, but I feel like I can't even tare myself away. So I guess this is how an addict feels? Probably. Or well actually probably a bit worse right? I mean, shoes aren't like say heroin right?? Or are shoes/shoe-shopping just as dangerous?
